Why do some people change many times, but their lives still haven't truly settled down?

There is a type of person who experiences a certain state for a long time.

They are not stubborn.

On the contrary, they are constantly changing.

Changing jobs.

Changing environments.

Changing lifestyles.

Changing goals.

Even constantly starting over.

But looking back a few years later, they will find a problem:

Life has not truly stabilized.

It's just a continuous cycle of "change."

First, frequent changes themselves destroy stable structures.

Many people mistakenly believe:

More change = closer to being correct.

But this is not the case in reality.

If changes lack structural support, the system will constantly reset.

For example:

Just established a rhythm → then changed direction.
Just stabilized → then started over.
Just started accumulating → then it was interrupted.

The result is always being near the starting point.

As the ancients said:

"Change without a fixed rule, no trend will form."

Meaning, changes without a stable structure cannot form a trend.

Second, stability is not a result, but "continuous accumulation."

Many people understand stability as a state.

But in reality, stability is a process:

Continuity + Consistency + Uninterrupted.

If a system is constantly being restarted, it cannot achieve stability.

For example:

Short-term effort.
Short-term adjustment.
Short-term change.

These cannot replace a long-term continuous structure.

Third, an unstable internal state will continuously disrupt external structures.

Many people overlook a core issue:

External stability relies on internal stability.

If a person is in a state of:

Anxiety.
Unease.
Doubt.
Fluctuation.

Then even if external conditions change, they will quickly be disrupted by the internal state.

As the ancients said:

"If the mind is unsettled, nothing will last."

Meaning, when the internal state is unstable, the external state is difficult to sustain.

Fourth, a lack of "rhythm" is the fundamental reason for repeated changes.

Many people constantly change because they lack rhythm.

Rhythm means:

Sustainable.
Repeatable.
Accumulative.

Without rhythm, every action is isolated.

Therefore, they can only constantly start over.

Fifth, how Taoism understands "repeated instability."

Traditional wisdom states:

"If qi is not continuous, the form will not be stable."

Meaning, if energy and rhythm cannot be sustained, the form cannot be stable.

Therefore, the true key is not change, but:

Making changes continuous.
Making actions accumulative.
Making states sustainable.

If life is always unstable, check three points:

First, if you frequently start over.

Second, if you lack a long-term rhythm.

Third, if your state fluctuates long-term.

Why do some people stabilize later in life?

It's not because they change less.

But because:

They begin to maintain continuity.
They reduce ineffective restarts.
They form a stable rhythm.
Their state gradually stabilizes.

When these conditions are met, life truly enters a stable structure.

The role of talismans in this stage.

In traditional systems:

"Luck-Changing Talismans" are used to reduce interference from old structures.
"Peace of Mind Talismans" are used to stabilize the internal state.
"Luck-Extending Talismans" are used to maintain continuous rhythm.
"Wish-Fulfilling Talismans" are used to strengthen directional stability.

The core function is to help the system "reduce restart frequency and enter stable operation."

Conclusion

Life's instability is not due to too little change, but rather too frequent and unstructured change.

When one's rhythm begins to stabilize, their state becomes continuous, and their actions accumulate, life truly enters a stable track.

True stability is essentially "the natural result after continuity is established."
